Virtual Voices: AIU Online Students Sound Off Return to CareerPointers™ Home
Greg: When I first decided to continue my education back in January 2002, I was convinced that I had to attend a brick and mortar school if I wanted a quality education at an established and accredited school. An online education was the furthest option from my mind. I was attending a community college where I was excelling at a high level when life took a drastic turn in August 2002 when I suffered a stroke that completely changed my life. Throughout my recovery, I feared that my goal of finally acquiring my college degree was over because I didn't think that I would have the motivation or energy to pursue it after my rehabilitation process.

I discovered AIU Online. I made the initial call and talked with my Admissions Advisor, Michelle Mackey; she made me feel very comfortable with my decision to continue my education at AIU Online. Everyone at AIU Online made the whole intimidating process of college admission, financial aid, and getting transcripts so easy. I received personal attention and guidance through each process.

All in all, this has been a wonderful experience and I haven't even touched on the quality education that I've received by some quality professors!

I can truly say that Michelle and the wonderful staff at AIU Online has been an important part of my achieving my goal of a college degree. You started the process and put my feet firmly on the road to graduation!

Patricia: When I first started at AIU Online, it was an experience I would never forget! I was quite nervous to begin classes because it had been a long time since I was in school. I had spoken to my Admissions Advisor, Claudette Cosby, several times and she was very encouraging. I also had some problems with my computer and relied on the expertise of AIU Online's technical support department who helped me a great deal.

I am so grateful for the support because I received an "A" in my first class! I realized that I would be able to handle anything. To me, a new world of education had just opened and it was a brand new start!

Earning my Master of Education degree at AIU Online helped me prove that people who have a learning disability can still attend college and succeed. It was a long and sometimes difficult journey, however, despite the difficult times, I was still able to reach my goal and it was all worth it!
