I am 38 yrs old and am currently a Human Resources Generalist for an international company. I really enjoy what I do, but I feel like my job is stagnant. My hard work and dedication has gotten me where I am today. I currently only have my high school diploma and am interested in furthering my education. What should I do to make myself more marketable? —Ethel

Ethel, it's great that you want to continue your education. This could be the key to your reaching even higher grounds professionally. I would suggest pursuing the Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration with AIU Online. This degree will give you the start needed to further your education and a precursory to earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. AIU Online offers this baccalaureate degree program with a concentration in Human Resources Management. Both degree programs would blend well with the great experience you have already acquired and provide you with the "jump start" your HR career needs while opening up other career opportunities.

I would like to go back to school and earn a Master's degree and am considering the Master's in Education. I have a BA in Psychology and wanted to know what kind of jobs I can get with the M.Ed. degree. —Diane

Diane, AIU Online's Master's Degree in Education will give you the knowledge and skills you will need to become a teacher. This degree includes coursework in Learning Theory, Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, Research Methodology and Instructional Technology and is designed to prepare educators across different industries such as Corporate Trainers, Teachers, Technology Facilitators, Instructional Coordinators and other similar professions.

If you are interested in teaching at the elementary, high school or collegiate level, please keep in mind that the requirements for teaching at each level are very different. I would recommend that you visit www.aiuonline.edu/online-college-degrees/online-education-degree/ to view the requirements of your state for the varying levels of teaching positions. Best of luck!

I work for at a hospital as a business office representative and I would like to pursue a degree so that I can continue to work in the medical field. I'm not sure what will be the best degree to advance my career. I've been out of college for about five years now. —Tiffany

Tiffany, advancing your education is always an excellent way to move your career forward so it's great that you have decided to pursue a degree. Since you want to stay in the medical field and already work on the business side, you might consider AIU Online's Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management. This degree combines business and healthcare related coursework that will provide you with the tools to catapult your career in the medical field. I really believe you will be well positioned to take your career to the next level given your existing experience in the field combined with this degree. Best wishes.
